5 SNEAKY TRICKS RETAILS DON"T WANT YOU TO KNOW

5 Sneaky Tricks Retailers Don't Want You To Know
By Julia Gaynor

1. Ignore Expiration Dates - Retailers want you in the store to shop so never assume that you can’t use a coupon just because it’s past the expiration date! It never hurts to ask and many retailers will honor
savings deals post-expiration date. One store we’ve heard that will honor expired coupons (but not in all cases) is Bed, Bath and Beyond, so hang onto those coupons!

2. Get Bulk Buy Prices For One Item - Many locations, especially
grocery stores, will offer deals for buying in bulk (i.e. 10 for $10). Contrary to popular belief, retailers will usually honor the bulk price on individual items, even if you plan to buy fewer items than are listed in the original deal. So when it says 10 for $10 and you only need one, take your lonely little item up to the checkout and 99% of the time, you’ll pay just one dollar - without having to have ten items.

3. Stack Coupons and Score! Savvy savers and expert coupon bloggers all know about coupon stacking. In fact, of our favorite savers and a friend of Eversave, Coupon Mom, has been talking about this for years! Essentially, if you’re a smart shopper, you can use a coupon for an item that’s already on
sale, and if you play your cards right, in many cases, you’ll find that the store owes you money after your savings are applied. To read more about coupon stacking, read Coupon Mom’s article here.

4. Carry Competitor’s Coupons and Fliers: One rule of thumb when it comes to
savings is don’t leave home without a ton of store fliers because many retailers will honor their rivals’ offers. Grocery stores, electronics, big box stores – you name it. Occasionally they won’t honor competitor’s prices, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. And the best thing about this is you can save time AND money by getting all of your purchases – and deals – in one place.

5. Shop With a Mission! Retailers are strategic in the placement of products and deals throughout the store. Ever wonder why candy and gum are located in the checkout aisle? One
grocery store trick we’ve noticed is to put some sale items on end caps on the outer edges of the store, but to “feature” non-sale items on other end caps in the middle of the store. Carry a list to make sure you walk out of the store with only what you intended to purchase. Don’t be drawn in by “false bargains!”

TOGETHER FOREVER

On September 7th, 1996 Liz and I were "sealed" to each other for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles, CA LDS Temple. In the LDS faith we believe that when we are sealed together our marriage will not end in death. We also believe that families can be together forever. Since our children were not born into the covenant they needed to be sealed to us. So on September 5th, 2009 in the Dallas, TX LDS Temple in a very short ceremony that will last a long time Liz and I were sealed to our children and now it is as if they had been born to us. We are very thankful that our children are part of our lives. We waited over 10 years for them and now it seems like they were always part of our lives. Thank you so much to all of our friends and family who helped make our day so special!

THE BETWEEN PARTY

Between the baptism and the temple sealing we had a little get together at our house. A big thank you to everyone who showed up and to everyone who made the wonderful food! We always enjoy spending time with family and friends!

BAPTISM DAY

Our beautiful daughter was baptized last Saturday by her Dad and then confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and received the Holy Ghost once again by her Dad and was assisted by Her Grandpas, Greg Whitman and Byron Brown, Uncles, Bill Dulaney, Joe Jones, Tom Nelson and friends Brad Sims and Matt Empey. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we believe that baptism by immersion in water by one having authority is the first saving ordinance of the gospel and is necessary for someone to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to receive eternal salvation. We believe all who seek eternal life must follow the example of Jesus Christ by being baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was a wonderful day and we appreciate everyone who attended!
