OUR SON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Our son finally turned 6 and to celebrate his first birthday with us we had a big party for him. The night before the big event and the next morning we had rain off and on. We were worried that we would have to fit the 50 or so guests into our house! Our son requested chili dogs which we had with salad and Dave's homemade white chili. Liz made a great birthday cake and cupcakes which were a big hit! We had friends and family from both near and far. The kids had a great time playing outside and the rainclouds stayed away! We appreciate everyone for coming out and making our son's "first" such a fun event.

....THE AFTER PARTY

We had some kids stay and play late into the night. Some of the Mom's and Dad's even got to go out on a date!

TEXAS SALUTE

Our kids were in a special performance at their school called "Texas Salute". They sang and danced to the songs "T-E-X-A-S", "Home on the Range", "Deep in the Heart of Texas", "Cotton Eye Joe", "Old Texas", "La Raspa" and "Texas, Our Texas". Who knew that there were so many songs about Texas!

OUR SON IS TURNING 6!

May 23rd is our sons first birthday with us but he will be turning 6. He always reminds us that we missed his last birthday even when we did not know about him at the time. In face we got our first phone call about the kids the day after his birthday. We had a "first" birthday for our little girl last September and our son has been waiting for his birthday ever since. He has endured Mom and Dad's birthdays, holidays, Grandma's and Grandpa's birthdays and now his birthday is finally here and he is so excited! We will have a race car theme for his birthday because he loves anything to do with racing! He has grown so much in the last year. He has over come a lot and we are so proud to have such a kind and loving little boy. He, like his sister wants to be good and to do the right things. Sometimes we have to ask him 5 times but he does want to be good. He has a lot of energy and is all boy! We did not do this ourselves. We had so much help from family, friends, church members, school staff and their great teachers and we thank you for all of your help!

TIME FLIES....

We are almost at the end of the school year and this morning I took a picture of the kids since our daughter is off to a field trip at the Dallas Zoo and our son gets to play more kick ball today. The first picture is from their first day of school and the second picture is from today. It is amazing how quickly time flies! We feel like we have had them forever but it has been less then a year.

KICKBALL

Our kids school had kick ball games since it is almost the end of the school year. Nobody won, nobody lost, they just had a good time! I must admit, watching kindergartners play kick ball is pure comedy!

BRIDGING FROM DAISY TO BROWNIE SCOUTS

Our daughter "bridged" from being a Daisy Scout to a Brownie Scout. She has had a lot of fun in girl scouts this last year and we are proud of her! During the ceremony the band was playing, horns were blowing and there were men on horses with swords. There was much clapping and cheering and as she and the other girls crossed the bridge you could hear in the background "Girl you'll be a woman soon"..... It didn't really happen that way but it was still a fun event!

FIREGIRLS

Liz and our daughter spent some time at our local fire Allen station recently. No one was hurt it was just our daughter's Girl Scout troup taking a tour.
